Design that creates value, service that builds trust

The truth is, we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about what makes us special. Fifty years and counting, 400+ projects, most still gracefully doing what they were designed to do. The fact that not many can match what we’ve done, makes us proud. But tomorrow is another day.

MCM Experience

TODAY Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership operates a full service architectural and interior design practice from downtown Vancouver employing a complement of some 100+ architects, technicians, and designers. We are primarily engaged in commercial, residential, and master planning projects. Our strength is an experience. Our promise is reliability.
50+ years of continuous practice have taught us to stay focused on what matters: delivering value, consistently. Our city has changed of course, and so has much else about daily life. Our office has more people and more space than ever before and new tools to help us serve our clients more effectively. Yet when we think about our work, our clients, our responsibilities, there is a genuine sense of durability.
TOMORROW offers our practice new opportunities. Our approach continues to be refined, nourished by our people. The fundamental principles seem as relevant as ever. When the wind changes, we know how to adjust the sails. We don’t throw our charts away, and we don’t abandon our destination.

Our Legacy

Founded by Frank Musson in Vancouver in 1965, MCM was born in a good place at a good time. Everything was growing. Architects had plenty of opportunities and MCM made the most of them. The current downtown skyline includes notable examples of the firm’s own work and also demonstrates its influence on others. As the city continues to grow, these will provide a foundation, solid and elegant, for the future of this remarkable city.

Personal Growth
Ambitious? It’s up to you how far you go. The opportunities are there for all to add new experience and further accreditation. Our office itself is a kind of academy of learning and professional development. Present us with your plan. We’ll work something out.
Open Communication
Everyone is accessible to everyone. When you need an answer, you go to someone who has it, including partners and principals. It saves time and misunderstanding. We all learn from each other. It just makes sense. We think.
Wellness
Nurturing the soul is more important than any project deadline. We do what gives us balance. Ride a bike to work? We have a great bike storage and change rooms with showers. Fresh fruit and snacks all day long. Monday massages and flexible working hours to take you stress-free through the day. When we take care of ourselves and each other, we’re at our best!
Studio culture
At the end of every week, we come together to talk and relax. Someone might present something. Or not. The important thing is to share some down time and a cold drink with those you know well and those you don’t. It’s important to us, a way to end the week with a smile and a sense of proportion.
