Vancouver School Board
Vancouver School Board
The Vancouver School Board building is based on an image of openness and accessibility to the public, as a place of learning as well as an administrative headquarters.
With a total area of 115,000 sf, this facility contains public meeting rooms, educational resource centre, a printing and distribution centre and staff amenities. Retail stores animate the Broadway frontage, while a new civic park provides a more formal processional entry to the building.

Semiahmoo Library & RCMP Facility
This 30,000 sf, uniquely dual-purpose facility was developed by the City of Surrey through a design-build competition. MCMP, in collaboration with Darrell J Epp Architect Ltd and Norson Construction, produced a winning design that combined cost-effectiveness, green building design, functional efficiency for two distinctively different purposes, and an aesthetic form that expresses the strength of purpose, openness, and community pride.
The RCMP office occupies the main floor of the building and the Library occupies the building’s spacious, double-height upper floor mezzanine which opens out to the fully glazed wall at the front of the building with access to an outdoor deck above the entrance. The design provides an abundance of natural light, impressive energy efficiency, and exceptional air quality. Cost-effective, durable, local materials with a preference for low-emissions (paints, adhesives, sealants, carpets, etc) were used throughout, appropriate for a community resource. LEED Silver Certification.
