1220 Station Street

1220 Station Street is a transit-oriented, mixed-use development envisioned as a gateway to Vancouver’s False Creek Flats and a hub for the emerging West Flats neighbourhood. Located beside Main Street–Science World SkyTrain Station, across from Thornton Park and Pacific Central Station, and within walking distance of the new St. Paul’s Hospital, the project integrates housing, employment, retail, and public amenities. Two 28- and 36-storey rental towers are connected by an eight-storey podium. The mix of uses provides rental homes, including 20% below-market units, alongside retail, a grocery store, office and medical laboratory space, and a generous public plaza.
The design is driven by urban fit, contextual response, and an active public realm. Positioned between the Health Hub, Creative District, residential neighbourhoods, and the industrial lands of the Flats, the project acts as an urban connector, drawing inspiration from the scale and character of Pacific Central Station while responding to the City Gate towers and the emerging St. Paul’s campus. The podium establishes a strong street edge and is anchored by a robust brick expression that references the area’s industrial and civic heritage. Above, the two residential towers feature an elegant vertical pattern of metal cladding and glass, reinforcing their slender proportions and creating a refined, contemporary skyline presence. Active retail frontages, a landscaped public plaza, and clearly defined entrances further contribute to a welcoming, pedestrian-focused environment.
