The Vancouver School Board
The Vancouver School Board building design is based on openness and accessibility to the public, as a place of learning as well as an administrative headquarters. The public atrium or "rotunda" forms the heart of the complex around which all major components of the program are focused.
The main entry faces south to a public park, developed as part of the overall Block 350 project. The park provides a formal or "processional" sense of entry to the Vancouver School Board, as well as providing open green space to those who work or live in the neighborhood.
The Vancouver School Board offices house not only workspaces but also various meeting rooms, a resource centre, a printing facility, a fitness room and a cafeteria.
