The Westminster Quay Public Market is an integral part of the redevelopment of the historic waterfront of downtown New Westminster, BC. and one of the key elements in providing access to the waterfront for the public.
The market consists of two levels with a total area of 73,000 square feet. The ground floor is primarily occupied with produce-oriented vendors, e.g., fruit and vegetables, fish, butcher, baker, etc. together with a collection of market day tables with seasonal produce. A pub occupies the west end of the main floor. The second floor accommodates a major food fair with eight different outlets, together with a series of more conventional shops, in the form of an arcade, plus two restaurants, which are themed to the main market place.
Both the upper and lower levels face onto sundecks and promenades overlooking the Fraser River. Extensive seating and amenities are provided throughout.
