Sevenoaks Shopping Centre, located in the rapidly growing Clearbrook area of the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, is a major regional shopping centre.
Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership designed the original centre in 1973 and carried out extensive additions and renovations in 1983 and again in 1991. The latest expansion added a junior department store and a food floor as anchors, joining two existing major department stores. An additional 42,000 square feet of CRU space was added, bringing the total area of the centre to over 500,000 square feet.
Increased parking requirements were addressed by incorporating partially underground parking in the expansion, with direct access up to the main mall.
The incremental nature of the development has resulted in a series of large skylit courts, each with unique features but unified by common design theme elements and finishes. A custom water clock is the focal point of the main centre court.
