Willowbrook Shopping Centre, Phase 5 Expansion

This latest expansion of this Regional Centre consisted of an additional 30,000 square feet of CRU including a 20,000 square foot Sport Chek and 21,000 square foot addition to the Zeller’s store, bringing the total gross leasehold area of Willowbrook Mall to 645,900 square feet.
The expansion incorporated an extension of the mall, the design of a new entrance prototype on the north and west elevations and it also provided a long-range treatment of the exterior west elevation. The design of the new entrance incorporated a “spire” theme to provide entry identity, especially from viewpoints not visible directly from the Fraser Highway. The design of the west elevation incorporated a series of façade treatments, including canopies and glazing to provide a more inviting exterior appearance. This was used as an integrating devise to unify previous phases of the development.
