Residential
UBC Wesbrook
Vancouver, BC
This residential tower and townhouse project was the first, within the new UBC South Campus Community. Massing, material and landscaping sets a design standard for “BC Modernism” and urbanity within the treed and park like context.
The 17-storey glass tower, with limestone-clad side walls and metal details, features corner decks and stepped roof terraces to take in the spectacular views. The 56 typical units range in size from 1,650 to 1,910 sq. ft. In addition, two top story, full- floor penthouses at 4,500 sq. ft. have extensive roof decks. The complex sits atop two stories of under ground parking.
The seven 2-storey townhouses, with their Georgian-proportioned glazing, limestone and metal cladding, create a “Brownstone” façade along the “Green Lane” edge of the site. Each 3-bedroom unit at 1,800 sq. ft. features a front porch, private terrace, roof deck, basement entertainment room and private garage.
The “Green Roof” landscaping over the entire site, as well as other initiatives, enabled the project to achieve REAP Silver (UBC sustainable program).
