The Cruise Ship Terminal at Canada Place in Vancouver, B.C. has been expanded and completely renovated by the Vancouver Port Authority to provide an additional berth for the ever-increasing Alaska Cruise industry.

The Porte Cochere is enlarged and made more efficient to enable it to handle the increased number of buses and taxis necessary for the 12,000 passengers that must be processed through the facility on a busy day. A third baggage room with associated vertical transportation and baggage handling facilities has been added and accommodation is provided for the cruise lines, the stevedores and the Customs and Immigration authorities.

This $70 million dollar project also includes a 60,000 square foot, multi-purpose space and a public plaza above the Terminal at the north end of the pier. Construction was completed in time for the start of the 2002 cruise season.
