The Squamish Roundhouse & Conference Centre is a major component in the long-range development plan of the West Coast Railway Heritage Park located in Squamish, BC. The dual-purpose, 20,000 sq. ft. facility, to be completed by 2010, is intended to be a unique meeting / conference facility for the Squamish community and will house the seven most important pieces of the West Coast Railway Association’s heritage collection, including the world famous Royal Hudson steam engine.

The Roundhouse will be functional as an exhibit and support base for these railway artefacts and will be designed to high public access standards for interpretation and viewing of these exhibits. This dual role is accomplished by rolling the railway artefacts outside the building, installing portable floor panels over the track flange ways, thus creating the needed open space for large meetings. This unique facility would also have a catering area and full accessible public facilities. It is designed to add 25,000 annual visitors to the facility and to Squamish, creating a new annual economic benefit of $1.08 million.

We invite you to go to the following project Roundhouse Webcam to view day-to-day activities.
