Planning
MCM has developed a significant Master Planning portfolio for high-density urban centres, retail/commercial developments and the public sector in Vancouver, the Lower Mainland of B.C. and internationally. Examples of some of these master plans are:
Urban Centres
- Bentall Centre – Vancouver, BC
- Gateway – Surrey, BC
- Vancouver Downtown Waterfront – Vancouver, BC (Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project, Canada Place, Pan Pacific Hotel, Waterfront Centre, Ballantyne Pier)
- Auckland – New Zealand
- Tech-park – Vancouver, BC
Retail/Commercial Developments
- Lougheed Town Centre – Burnaby, BC
- Brentwood Town Centre – Burnaby, BC
- Lake City, PMC Sierra and Clarica – Burnaby BC
- Willingdon Green – Burnaby, BC
Public Sector
- University of Northern BC (Prince George, BC)
- Pushpa Gujral Science City – Punjab, India
- Huaxia Cultural and Tourism Zone – Shanghai, China
- Bishuiyan Residential Project – Beijing, China
The physical characteristics, both natural and built, vary considerably across these projects, as does the specific scope and mix of proposed development. Each one, however, involved working as a member of a team to devise strategies for constructing buildings in an integrated manner over time that would result in something greater than the sum of the parts. To excel in this field requires vision, planning and design ability on a conceptual, high-level scale, practical knowledge of how buildings and the infrastructure that supports them actually works, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
