The new inpatient unit at Langley Memorial Hospital will house 10 adult and 10 pediatric medical and surgical beds. The project includes Phase 1 enclosure of the existing roof area and is being delivered using a construction manager. Innovative design was brought forth wherever possible, such as in the patient rooms, created as patient-centred rooms with staff area, patient area and visitor area and creation of a separate “service” corridor” for utilities, etc. Warm colours and wood laminates will be used as well as “outdoor” themes of leaves and trees in the pediatric area.
