Semiahmoo Library and RCMP Facility
Surrey, BC

Completed in August 2003, this unique dual-purpose facility was developed by the City of Surrey, which chose the Design-Build delivery system for the project.
MCM joined the design-build team, led by Norson Construction, to offer the city a winning design that combines cost effectiveness, green building design, functional efficiency for both the library and the RCMP and an aesthetic form that expresses both strength of purpose and openness.
The Semiahmoo Library and RCMP facility has received a LEED™ Silver certification in January 2004 from the US Green Building Council. The LEED™ program recognizes achievements in environmentally responsible design and construction and achieving a Silver designation is a substantial achievement. We believe that this project may be the first library in all of Canada to achieve this milestone.
